I wanted to make a scarf with a very easy, repeated pattern as I often knit in front of the TV and didn’t want to have to memorise which side I was on or have to count my stitches. And so, the simple scarf was born! The pattern is the same on both sides and it produces a nice ridged texture.
You can use any weight of yarn you want, along with any size needles. For my scarf, I used 4mm needles with 100g of DK yarn. This gave me a scarf around 10cm wide.
Pattern
Cast on 30 stitches (or any multiple of 3)
*K2, P1* on every row
